Returns & Refund Policy

Thought Out products are mostly engineered from heavy-gauge American steel and are built for long-term use. Because of the nature of our products and the environments in which they are often used, our return policies distinguish between personal and commercial use.

Please review the information below to determine which classification applies to your order.

Thought Out products carry multi-year to decade-long warranty coverage. Our products are built to last, and most customers never need to reference this page.

Return Authorization (RMA Required)

All returns require an approved Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).

To request an RMA, please contact us at store@thoughtout.us with your order number and reason for return.

If your return request is approved, we will provide the authorized return address and routing instructions. Items sent back without an approved RMA may be refused or subject to additional restocking deductions.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is the result of our error.

Shipping damage or order errors must be reported within 48 hours of confirmed delivery to qualify for correction or claim support.

Personal Use Returns (30 Days)

Products purchased for personal, non-commercial use may be returned within 30 days of confirmed delivery.

Eligible personal use returns refunded to the original payment method are subject to:

• A 10% restocking fee
• Return shipping costs (customer responsibility)

Customers are encouraged to select 100% store credit (valid for one year) in lieu of a refund. Store credit retains the full value of your purchase and avoids restocking deductions associated with refunded returns.

Commercial / Event Use Returns (7 Days)

Products purchased for commercial, institutional, event, or non-personal environments may be returned within 7 days of confirmed delivery.

Commercial refunds issued to the original payment method are subject to:

• A 20% restocking fee
• A 4% non-refundable transaction processing fee

Total deduction: 24%

Customers may elect to receive 100% store credit (valid for one year) in lieu of a refund. Store credit preserves the full purchase value and avoids commercial restocking and transaction deductions.

What Qualifies as Commercial Use

Commercial classification includes, but is not limited to:

• Products used in retail, restaurant, healthcare, trade show, institutional, or public environments
• Orders totaling more than $299.99
• Purchases of three (3) or more identical units within a 30-day period
• Secure enclosures (EnCloz products)
• VESA-mounted systems

Orders totaling more than $599.99 may be classified as Commercial Use and are subject to commercial return terms and review prior to approval.

Exchanges

We do not process direct product swaps.

If you would like a different model, size, or configuration, please request an RMA for the original item (if eligible).

For exchange situations, we strongly recommend selecting 100% store credit (valid for one year). Once issued, you may immediately place a new order for the desired product.

Using store credit preserves the full value of your original purchase and avoids restocking deductions associated with refunded returns. This is the fastest and most cost-effective way to complete an exchange.

Order Cancellations

Orders canceled prior to shipment are subject to a 4% transaction processing fee, or may be issued as 100% store credit (valid for one year).

Condition of Returned Items

Returned items must be:

• New and unused
• In original packaging
• Complete with all components and hardware
• Free from damage or installation marks

Items that do not meet these conditions may be subject to additional deductions or may be deemed ineligible for return.

Additional Return Conditions

• Unauthorized returns may be subject to up to a 20% restocking deduction. • Orders returned due to refusal, failed delivery, or unclaimed status may be subject to outbound shipping, return shipping, and applicable restocking deductions.

Custom & Non-Returnable Items

Custom, modified, or non-standard products are final sale and not eligible for return.

Gift cards, clearance items, and final sale items are non-returnable.

Refund Processing

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you by email regarding approval.

Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within a reasonable timeframe. Please allow additional time for your bank or credit card provider to post the transaction.

Store credit, when selected, preserves the full purchase value and is valid for one year from the date of issuance.
