Sizing the stand to your iPad mini
Place your iPad mini (with or without a case) face down on a table. Using the supplied 5/64" torque-limiting wrench, loosen all six holder screws just enough so the fingers can slide. Place the IPM10 holder over the back of your device. Slide the six fingers evenly until they firmly touch the iPad mini. Lightly tighten the six screws. After setup, you can fine-tune any finger for the best fit.

 

Attaching the ball shaft to the Planet Base
Hand-tighten the ball shaft into the Planet Base. Use an 11/16" open-end or adjustable wrench and turn no more than about 1/64" to secure. Do not over-tighten. To disassemble, reverse this procedure.

 

Using the stand on a tripod
Remove the ball shaft from the Planet Base. Attach the ball shaft to any standard tripod using the same tightening method. This allows you to convert the stand from a desktop base to a tripod mount in seconds.

Inserting and removing your iPad mini
(A) To insert your iPad mini, place the bottom edge into the bottom slide fingers of the holder, then push the top of the device into place. (B) To remove it, push up and back on the top slide fingers and slide the device out.

Adjusting ball socket tension
Over time, the pivot may loosen. Use the supplied 3/32" wrench to turn the recessed socket screw counter-clockwise about half a turn. Then turn it clockwise slowly until you feel it contact the steel ball. Once contact is made, about a quarter turn more will restore firm pivot tension.

 

Care and use guidelines
Clean the Planet Base with a very soft cloth lightly moistened with water, such as a microfiber cloth. Do not use solvents, harsh chemicals, or scouring compounds. Do not store outdoors and do not use for extended outdoor exposure. The stand is water resistant, not waterproof, so dry it if it gets wet. Always use the supplied torque-limiting wrench and do not over-tighten any screws, as this can cause damage.
